in the Village Hall
Swanland Village Hall was one of the first local community halls to take part in an experiment to bring a “cinema experience” to the villages of East Riding of Yorkshire.

Swanlanders will have no need to get into the car, find somewhere to park and sit in a soulless multiplex cinemwith a scattering of unknown other people. They can walk to the centre of the village and experience a social, cinema occasion friends and neighbours.

The experience is as a result of an initiative taken by ArtERY with funding from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Screen Yorkshire and the Lottery and, if successful, will hopefully spread to other villages in East Yorkshire. (For details of other participating venues contact ArtERY on 01943 607030.)

Films normally start at 7.30 (doors open at 7pm) on the third Saturday of each month (except November when it will be on the fourth) and costs £3.50 (adults) £1.50 (accompanied schoolchildren) available from Yvonne (634 863) at Mere House and Ian (63 2800) 15 Mill Rise.
